  4. Thank you! My family insisted they could not tell the cardinal was a bird, so I am someone can. :) I made him with 2 strands of DMC cotton floss. The body is a lazy daisy stitch (or detached chain stitch) with a straight stitch inside to fill it with color. The head is a French knot and the tail consists of two straight stitches. I mimicked him from a bird Barbara W. made on a block for Kathy S. in a CQI Winter/Christmas Round Robin that I just adored.
